1. 14 August 2025. Monetary Board Resolution No. 805 approved pausing gambling links inside every BSP-supervised payment app and website while the regulator writes its policy on gambling payments.
2. Within 48 hours. BSP Memorandum M-2025-029 then told those institutions to strip the links out inside that window. Under the memo, even a button that forwards a wallet user to a betting site counts.
3. 16 August 2025. Day two on the clock: GCash ends every licensed gaming top-up and payout, and the Games section leaves the app with them.
4. Today. The lobby page still lists G-Cash (QR Transaction) and G-Cash Native Channel (OTP). Whether either shows up for your account is something only the Deposit screen, after sign-in, can tell you.

Your wallet’s limits did change in 2026, just not in a way that touches gaming. The table took effect on 1 October 2026:

Reach a cap and the affected services wait for the 1st of next month, or for an upgrade; GCash has no option to move down a tier. Basic accounts can receive money but cannot send it; Send Money and Bank Transfer open only once the account is Fully Verified.

Three more wallet rules shape any plan that involves a bank:

• Bank transfers cost PHP 10. Since 4 July 2026 each InstaPay send from GCash costs PHP 10, and the InstaPay rules for every bank send govern the rest.
• Cards cannot fund the wallet. GCash says a debit or credit card cannot be used to cash in.
